Hi there
Doing a bit of ancestral research - my great grandfather was called Edward Hammerton from Glasgow (born in Linlithgow), and my grandmother who died before I was born was called Jane Smith Hammerton and lived on Buccleuch St Glasgow when she married. She seemed to have a few siblings, so just building up a picture of the family. I'm not phishing or anything, but any information about your family would be interesting for me.
Thanks
Julie
Hi Nana,
That will definitely be a different Hammerton line from my own.
My grandfather Charles Hammerton died in 1986 at the age of 82. He and my grandmother Violet Hammerton (nee Annear) had lived variously in Egypt, France, Harrow, Brighton and finally Haywards Heath. I'm not sure where he was born.
His father I believe was Charles Thomas Albert Hammerton, son of Albert Hammerton.
